The ETX680C lithium battery only weighs 3.9 pounds but delivers 680 cranking amps!
This battery is only 3.9 pounds and is designed for an 60 amp alternator/generator or less with 12.4 amp hours of capacity with an amazing 680 cranking amps!
An exclusive feature includes an LED battery fault light indicator on
the battery itself plus it can be programed into your EFIS or wired to
your control panel of your aircraft with a simple 12V LED light that
alerts you to the state of charge and state of health of the battery.
(Please see manual for details)
The battery management system protects the cells from over discharge,
over charge, short circuit, excessive cranking and cell balancing
technology PLUS this is redundant for another layer of protection. The
ETX680C meets the requirements set forth from Rotax engines, ULS Power
Engines, Viking Engines, and Continental engines plus the EarthX line
of aircraft batteries is used in many aircraft manufacturer straight
from the factory. EarthX is proud to be one of the most trusted brands
in the experimental aircraft market.
The difference between the ETX680 and the ETX680C is physical size. The “C” is for compact.
What is the difference between the ETX36C and the ETX680C models, you ask?????
The difference is in the BMS and the fault light indicator. (and $25)
The ETX680C has redundant BMS (so basically a back up BMS) and an LED fault light directly on the battery to alert the user of anything outside of normal parameters plus it has the ability to be connected to an aircraft's navigation system via the pigtail on it or a 12V led can be attached to the pigtail so you can see a remote LED for a fault indication. You can not use the ETX36C in an aircraft, but you can use the ETX680C in power sport or aircraft. It is just more redundant with additional safety features.
As far as cost, $25 isn’t much of a difference but maybe for some it is…….depends on who is buying it and for what purpose.
