Bike Aid creeps into the smallest spaces including the pins on
the chain and cures to leave behind a dry film of moly.
This unique dry
film won't attract dirt or dust, is highly resistant to water, and
prevents rust and corrosion It is the perfect lubricant to use on brake
and throttle cables, throttle sleeves, brake pivot points, shift
controls, and chains...... well... pretty much anything that creates friction. Prevents cable freeze up. It

This is one
of the easiest ways to apply drislide.
It is the most widely specified
dry film lubricant in aviation maintenance manuals and for general
industrial MRO applications, for tractor-trailers, motorcycles,
bicycles, and even weapons.
Drislide Multi-Purpose Lubricants are a very thin liquid, made up of
mostly mineral spirits as the carrier for molybdenum Disulfide (Moly).
The Moly settles at the bottom of the container and needs to be agitated or
shaken up, before you apply the drislide. Once the moly is agitated and
now suspended in the mineral spirits, the mineral spirits carries the
moly across the application (metal service). The mineral spirits will
evaporate in 10-15 minutes, leaving behind a nice thin layer of dry moly
film, that has bonded to the metal service and will stay there to
lubricant longer then other lubricants.
And the best part about Drislide is that it will form into a DRY LUBE, not collect dust, dirt or other airborne
particles, and it repels moisture.
Once applied and the mineral spirits evaporate, the moly film
withstand 100,000 psi and a temperature range of -20°F up to 1000°F.

What is "Moly"? A.
“ Moly” is the short name for the substance known as ( it’s
scientific name) Molybdenum disulfide. “Moly” (Molybdenum
disulfide, and it's scientific called out MoS2) is a naturally
occurring mineral, formed and mined with other ores in various parts
of the world. It is highly 's refined and processed into sub-micron
particle size at which time it can be used as a “solid lubricant.”
It possesses the properties of being able to withstand extremely high
load capacities (400,000 psi). It is chemically stable, has a very low
coefficient of friction (0.05 to 0.09 in powder form) and has
thermo-stability over 2,000°F. All of these properties are essential
to reduce metal to metal contact and thereby reduce friction, heat,

difference between Molybdenum Disulfide (MoS2) and Teflon (PTFE) in
terms of Solid Lubricants? A. Both materials are very
slippery. Molybdenum Disulfide, or Moly, is a naturally occurring
inert mineralization that will sustain loads in excess of 400,000 psi,
while PTFE, a manufactured chemical, can only sustain loads in the 350
to 450 psi range. MoS2 remains effective up to its melting point
exceeding 2,000°F while PTFE forms a noxious gas near 650°F. Additionally, PTFE particle
size is inconsistent and generally too large to remain in suspension. PTFE tends to “ball-up” or congeal at high

The Drislide Bike Aid lubricant is just as valuable, on chains, as it is to the inside cable sleeve and cable. And don’t forget the speedometer cable too!
The Mineral Spirits, being the carrier in the Drislide, will carry the moly, into the pins of the chain. It’ll creep into the smallest spaces.
The mineral spirits evaporate in 10 to 15 minutes, leaving the moly content, across the chain links and down in the pins, for continuous lubrication of the chain.

So once applied, the Drislide is not going anywhere.
There’s no need to remove a chain and dip it in a can, to get a good lubrication of the pins.
